Local Independent Estate Agents wins community award at the annual Crawley Community Awards. The Greenaway Foundation, which is the registered charity of Greenaway Residential Estate Agents received the award in recognition for all the hard work they have been doing fundraising. Their efforts raised over £80,000 to help fund the Foundations’ Christmas event where they delivered to nearly 900 families all the ingredients they would need to cook a two course Christmas dinner.
This week the Hawth Theatre in Crawley hosted the annual Crawley Community Awards, an event that recognises outstanding contributions to the local community. Among the nominees for an award were the team at Greenaway Residential Estate Agents, many of whom are Trustees of The Greenaway Foundation. The foundation was set up in 2010 by Darren Greenaway to allow the Estate Agents to help the local community. All the trustees were proud to be recognised for their exceptional fundraising efforts over the previous 12 months.
During the past twelve months, the dedicated team successfully raised over £80,000 to support the Foundation’s charitable endeavours. One of the notable initiatives was the charity’s annual Christmas efforts, where nearly 900 families received essential ingredients to prepare a healthy two-course Christmas dinner. Additionally, the Foundation made over 1,600 Christmas wishes come true for local children. These wishes brought joy and festive cheer to numerous young hearts in the community.
The impact of The Greenaway Foundation extends beyond the festive season. The Foundation plays a crucial role in supporting fifty-one local schools in the Crawley, East Grinstead, and surrounding areas. This support encompasses various aspects, including facilitating student travel to and from school, providing meals, contributing to school proms and trips, as well as assisting with residential trips. At the Crawley Community Awards, the prestigious accolade for fundraising was bestowed upon the Foundation’s CEO, Darren Greenaway.
